Select & Ask AI 是浏览器扩展。其单一用途是：帮助用户在网页上选中文字后，通过右键菜单把「处理要求 + 选中内容」发送到用户已启用的 AI 网页版（例如 ChatGPT、Gemini、Claude、Grok、DeepSeek、豆包、Kimi）。

我们处理的数据

Select & Ask AI 会在用户的浏览器本地处理和/或临时保存以下数据：

  • 扩展设置，例如已启用的 AI 列表、是否将同一次提问的标签页归组、是否完成首次引导。
  • 用户创建的快捷操作，例如操作名称、处理要求、目标 AI、每个 AI 的提问次数，以及是否附加页面标题或页面地址。
  • 用户主动选中并触发快捷操作时的选中文字；可选地，用户开启相关选项时读取当前页面标题和页面 URL。
  • 为完成一次提问而临时保存的任务状态（例如目标标签页、发送进度）。进行中的任务保存在浏览器会话级存储中，不会作为长期历史持久化保存选中内容。

这些数据用于：同步右键菜单、恢复用户设置与快捷操作，并在用户主动触发后把问题填入并发送到所选 AI 网站。

数据存储与传输

Select & Ask AI 不提供账号系统，也不提供由开发者运营的远程同步服务。设置和快捷操作默认保存在用户自己的浏览器本地存储中。

当用户主动选择快捷操作时，扩展会打开用户所选 AI 的官方网页版，并把组装后的问题（处理要求、选中内容，以及用户可选附加的页面标题/URL）填入该网页。该内容会进入用户本人已登录或访问的第三方 AI 网站，并受相应网站自身的隐私政策与服务条款约束。扩展开发者不运营这些 AI 服务，也不通过开发者服务器中转提问内容。

Select & Ask AI 不会将用户的选中内容、页面标题、URL、快捷操作或设置上传到开发者服务器。Select & Ask AI 不出售用户数据，也不会为了广告、画像、信用评估或与扩展单一用途无关的目的向第三方转移用户数据。

扩展不保存任何 AI 账号密码；它复用用户在对应 AI 网站已有的登录状态。

权限使用说明

Select & Ask AI 仅为实现上述单一用途请求必要权限：

  • contextMenus：在选中文字时提供右键菜单快捷操作入口。
  • storage：在浏览器本地保存设置与快捷操作；用会话级存储保存进行中的任务状态。
  • activeTab：在用户主动发起右键操作后，读取当前活动标签页上的选中内容，并在原网页展示执行状态提示。
  • scripting：在用户主动触发后注入必要脚本，用于读取选中内容、展示进度提示，以及在发送失败时把完整问题复制到剪贴板作为兜底。
  • tabGroups：仅在用户启用「标签页分组」设置时，把同一次提问打开的标签页归为一组。
  • 主机访问（通过内容脚本匹配范围）：仅在受支持的 AI 官方站点上运行扩展包内的内容脚本，用于在新对话页面填入并发送问题。当前范围包括 ChatGPT、Gemini、Claude、Grok、DeepSeek、豆包、Kimi 相关官方域名。

Select & Ask AI 不使用远程 JavaScript 或远程 Wasm。所有可执行脚本和运行所需资源均包含在扩展程序软件包中。设置页中展示的第三方网站图标可能通过对应网站的公开图标地址加载，这不属于远程可执行代码。

数据保留与删除

设置和快捷操作保存在用户浏览器本地。进行中的任务状态保存在会话级存储中，浏览器会话结束后通常不会长期保留。用户可以通过扩展设置、浏览器扩展管理页面或浏览器站点数据/扩展数据管理功能清除相关数据。卸载 Select & Ask AI 后，浏览器通常会删除该扩展保存的本地数据。

已发送到第三方 AI 网站的内容，其保留与删除由对应用户账号与该网站政策决定；用户可在相应网站中管理自己的对话历史。

儿童隐私

Select & Ask AI 面向一般用户，不会主动收集儿童的个人身份信息、健康信息、财务信息、身份验证信息、个人通讯内容或精确位置。用户主动选中并发送的网页文字可能包含任意内容，扩展不会针对儿童额外收集数据。

政策变更

如果 Select & Ask AI 的数据处理方式发生重大变化，本隐私政策将更新，并在扩展商店页面或对应公开页面中提供最新版本。

Select & Ask AI Privacy Policy

Select & Ask AI is a browser extension. Its single purpose is to help users select text on a webpage and, through the context menu, send their instructions plus the selected text to the AI web apps they have enabled (for example ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Doubao, and Kimi).

Data We Process

Select & Ask AI processes and/or temporarily stores the following data locally in the user's browser:

  • Extension preferences, such as the list of enabled AI providers, whether to group tabs created by the same ask, and whether onboarding has been completed.
  • User-created quick actions, such as the action name, instruction text, target AI providers, ask counts per AI, and whether to attach the page title or page URL.
  • Text the user actively selects and then triggers a quick action; optionally, if the user enables the related options, the current page title and page URL.
  • Temporary task state needed to complete an ask (for example target tabs and send progress). In-progress tasks are kept in session storage so selected text is not persisted as long-term history.

This data is used to sync the context menu, restore preferences and quick actions, and, after a user-initiated action, fill and send the prompt to the chosen AI websites.

Data Storage and Transfer

Select & Ask AI does not provide an account system or a developer-operated remote sync service. Preferences and quick actions are stored by default in the user's own browser local storage.

When the user actively chooses a quick action, the extension opens the official web app for each selected AI and fills in the composed prompt (instructions, selected text, and optionally the page title/URL if enabled). That content is delivered into the third-party AI website the user visits or is already signed into, and is governed by that website's own privacy policy and terms. The extension developer does not operate those AI services and does not relay prompts through a developer server.

Select & Ask AI does not upload selected text, page titles, URLs, quick actions, or settings to a developer server. Select & Ask AI does not sell user data and does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, credit evaluation, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

The extension does not store AI account passwords; it reuses the login state the user already has on each AI website.

Permission Usage

Select & Ask AI requests only the permissions necessary for this single purpose:

  • contextMenus: Provides context-menu quick actions when text is selected.
  • storage: Stores preferences and quick actions locally; uses session storage for in-progress task state.
  • activeTab: After a user-initiated context-menu action, reads the selected text on the active tab and shows progress feedback on the original page.
  • scripting: After a user-initiated action, injects the scripts needed to read the selection, show progress feedback, and copy the full prompt to the clipboard as a fallback if sending fails.
  • tabGroups: When the user enables tab grouping, groups the tabs opened by the same ask.
  • Host access (via content-script matches): Runs packaged content scripts only on supported official AI sites to fill and send prompts in new chat pages. The current scope includes official domains for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Doubao, and Kimi.

Select & Ask AI does not use remote JavaScript or remote Wasm. All executable scripts and runtime resources required by the extension are included in the extension package. Third-party site icons shown in the settings page may load from those sites' public icon URLs; that is not remote executable code.

Data Retention and Deletion

Preferences and quick actions are stored locally in the user's browser. In-progress task state is kept in session storage and is generally not retained long-term after the browser session ends. Users can clear related data through the extension settings, the browser extension management page, or the browser's site/extension data management features. When Select & Ask AI is uninstalled, the browser generally removes the local data stored by the extension.

Content already sent to a third-party AI website is retained or deleted according to the user's account and that website's policies. Users can manage their conversation history on those websites.

Children's Privacy

Select & Ask AI is intended for general users. It does not intentionally collect children's personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication information, personal communications, or precise location. Text that users actively select and send may contain any content; the extension does not collect additional data specifically from children.

Policy Changes

If Select & Ask AI's data processing practices materially change, this privacy policy will be updated and the latest version will be made available on the extension store listing or the corresponding public page.
